About one hour from TPE, this golf course has been around many years, therefore, the main building is aged, so are the men's and ladies lounges, could used some much needed updates. However, the golf course itself was in pretty good conditions, with 27 holes. Most holes are surrounded with beautiful trees, the fairways are not too tricky, comfortable course. The greens needed some maintenance, not too bad. Overall, I enjoyed playing there!

There are legit reasons why this course is solid. There are also reasons why this course is not 5-star caliber. The good: condition. My friends strongly recommended playing Hsin Feng cos it reminded them of playing in Japan. I can see that. Condition is well maintained. Heard it’s a total turnaround for years ago. Also enjoyed the Meat ball soup by the starter. The bad: it’s narrow so need to drive straight. But that’s not the deal breaker. The major negative for me is the wait. I teed off at 6:30am. Finished at noon. There was a crazy 45-min wait at the turn where we had to wait for 5 groups to tee off before us. It’s hard to keep your tempo or momentum playing like this. Per the caddie, this can be quite the norm around here too. Just strange cos it’s a 27-hole course so you would think managing the players should come easier than other 18-hole courses. Anyway, So considering 5.5-hour round plus 2-hour roundtrip from Taipei, that means you’ll need to invest 1/3 of your day to play Hsin Feng. And the truth is while it’s a solid course in great conditions, it’s not an elite course to command that. Ohhhh and the kicker: for the first one in my life after playing courses all over the world, this is the first course that doesn’t take credit card. Cash only.

Very tight course. Lots of trees but easy to find your ball in the rough. Greens are in good condition. Overall a very good quality golf course.

Old school design with big trees. Course is 50 years old with some cool design elements. Bermuda Greens putt true and caddies are knowledgeable. A good test for the low to mid handicapper. Post golf noodles in the grill is never a bad thing. I'd definitely go back.
