Located between Magang and Jinsha Village in Nangan, Matsu, lies Shengtian Park. Adjacent to the Chushui'ao Reservoir, the park covers over ten hectares and is a representative of Matsu's coastal parks. Within the park stands the Shengtian Pavilion, a Tang Dynasty-style pavilion built in 1990 by the military. Its design was inspired by the architectural style of the Zhishan Garden in Waishuangxi, Taipei, and adopted a Song Dynasty garden style. Later, due to insect damage to its wooden structure, it collapsed. The Matsu National Park Administration restored it to its original appearance in 2004. Shengtian Park also features Taiwan beech forests, where diverse native Matsu plants thrive, including *Earwort*, *Cercis chinensis*, *Dianthus longipes*, *Lycoris radiata*, *Narcissus daffodils*, *Lilium 'Matsu'*, *Callicarpa japonica*, *Fringebergia odorifera*, and *Rhododendron simsii*. Every January, Matsu's cherry blossoms begin to bloom, and Shengtian Park is lined with blooming cherry trees. In recent years, Fuji cherry trees have also been planted in Matsu, blooming around February or March, extending the cherry blossom viewing period!

A hidden gem of a cherry blossom park, no need to go to crowded cherry blossom spots in Taiwan. Come to Shengtian Park in Nangan, where you'll find not only sea views but also beautiful cherry blossoms.

I rode my scooter into the large archway of Kōten Park. At first glance, it didn't seem particularly special, but after reading other people's reviews, I learned that it also has cherry blossoms! Unfortunately, I came at the wrong time; the weather in early November was unusually hot.

Sources and ranking basis

  1. Official and public sources: Tourism Administration, MOTC open data , Official Info , 馬祖日報社 , Matsu National Scenic Area Administration , Central Weather Administration . Used to confirm the attraction name, address, official links, transportation notes, and basic travel information.
  2. On-site content: Introductions, FAQs, and transportation details are organized into readable original site content. External reviews are not copied into this page.
  3. Ranking and score: The score uses "official inclusion + traveler interest": official sources help decide whether the attraction belongs on the list, while verified ratings, review volume, one-year and five-year activity changes, search interest, and on-site engagement affect the visible recommendation.
  4. Traveler interest references: Google Maps, Tripadvisor, news reports, and public social discussion may be used only as checkable references. The site records usable statistics, source links, and check dates, but does not copy full reviews or posts.
