Located in Mingjian Township along the road to Jiji Township the place is known by later. It is a nice drive to enjoy the nature around it. The train tracks run along the road most of the time which gives the place an additional attraction.

I went to Jiji for fun, and I'd wanted to visit the Green Tunnel for years. But during the long holiday, all I saw were individual bicycles – not tandem bikes, but long-distance cyclists. The entire Green Tunnel was mostly cars, not many. I saw others stopping to admire the tunnel, so I stopped too. It was quiet, beautiful, and comfortable, but there weren't any bicycles. Later, I drove to look for one, but got a little lost and gave up. I checked online and found out there were Green Tunnels with bicycles; maybe there would be many cyclists there. This was quite different from the Green Tunnel I'd imagined, but the lack of bicycles didn't matter. The lush greenery on both sides made for a long and pleasant drive.

#JijiGreenTunnel 👍Strongly 4.5 kilometers long, this road is most famous for its more than 1,000 camphor trees, some over 70 years old, planted on both sides. Their dense foliage creates a natural, tunnel-like green landscape. 👍The shade provided by the camphor trees is refreshing even in summer, and the air is filled with a faint camphor scent. 👍One section of the tunnel runs parallel to the Taiwan Railway Jiji Line. Today, I was lucky enough to capture a nostalgic scene of a train slowly passing by the greenery.

On the way to Sun Moon Lake, we stopped by Jiji Town and visited this famous green tunnel. Even though it was a weekend, there weren't many people taking photos. Most people were probably just taking pictures and eating near the train station. Unless you're driving or cycling, you're unlikely to come here, hence the low crowds. This made it easy to find quiet spots with no cars or people passing by (although personally, I think photos taken with cars passing by also have a nice feel to them). I felt the trees weren't very dense; if they were, the green tunnel would have a better sense of enclosure, and the light and shadow filtering through the leaves would be more interesting. Personally, I think if you want to photograph roads and roadside trees, chinaberry trees, golden trumpet trees, and kapok trees would be better choices.
