It’s a pretty intricate Taoist temple that sits on top of the hill for this island. It’s also the largest of 100 temples on the island. It’s pretty spacious in a modern way allow for courtyard events and puppet theater shows. This is a more elaborate and well maintained temple compared to other temples across Taiwan. I visited during the evening time when there wasn’t any crowds. A nice mystic way of studying frescos and sculptures and detailing. There 3 levels to the main temple and it worth visiting all 3. A lot visuals with dragons and tigers interacting. I love the temple rooftop sculptures and details the best. This island emphasizes a boat building ritual (I think they burn the boat for ritual event once a year)

Sanlong Palace, with its magnificent golden archway, is the most lively place for the triennial King's Welcoming Ceremony. Sanlong Palace, also known as the Wangye Temple, enshrines the three kings of the Chi, Wu, and Zhu families, collectively known as the Three Kings of the Three Families. It was built in the early years of the Qianlong Emperor's reign in the Qing Dynasty. Fishermen would always come here to pray and seek blessings before setting sail, making it a thriving center of worship, along with Biyun Temple, which primarily enshrines Guanyin Buddha, serving as a religious center for the local people. Sanlong Palace is the main temple for the triennial King's Welcoming Peace Ceremony. In Liuchiu Township, the King's Welcoming Peace Ceremony is a very important event. Liuchiu residents who have migrated to various places would do their utmost, bringing the elderly and children, to return to their hometown during the ceremony to participate in the grand event. Liuchiu fishing boats would suspend operations and return to Xiaoliuqiu, at which time the harbors would be filled with fishing boats of all sizes, lined up like a military parade. Men on the island, regardless of their profession, would all come out to help carry the palanquin (a large palanquin), while women would prepare snacks and lunch for the hardworking palanquin bearers and pilgrims. Free drinks are available along the pilgrimage route, preserving the ancient custom of "eating the local food while touring the county, and eating the local food while touring the prefecture." Visitors can enjoy the food wherever they are, but please remember to thank the residents of Xiaoliuqiu for their hospitality and refrain from littering! During my trip to Xiaoliuqiu, I made a special trip to Sanlong Temple. The new archway is magnificent, with the sea view behind it. The blue sky and sea breeze create a scene that perfectly captures the essence of Xiaoliuqiu. If you're visiting, take a closer look at the stone carvings on the new archway. You'll discover many elements of island culture. Besides enjoying the sea and delicious food, I highly recommend stopping by Sanlong Temple to pay your respects when you're in Xiaoliuqiu.

The Little Liuqiu religious center is located in a vast area. Entering the temple brings peace of mind. The dragon pillars on both sides of the temple gate and the stone carvings on the walls are very exquisite. There is also a magnificent palanquin for people to admire. It is a folk tourist attraction worth visiting.
