余清芳紀念碑建於台南市玉井區的虎頭山上，是為緬懷抗日英雄余清芳為首的志士而設，其紀念碑週遭環境幽靜，又因位於山丘，可以鳥瞰玉井區全景，同時空氣亦為清新，是一處悼念及觀景的極佳處所。 這是1915年爆發的「噍吧哖事件」，距今已有100多年，是日治時期，最重大，犧牲最慘烈的革命抗日事件，當時日軍清鄉屠村，死難者難以估算。而虎頭山是當時的抗日基地，也是激戰之地。由於悲壯惨烈的歷史事件會隨著時間過去而漸漸淡忘，故於民國70年(1981年)虎頭山建碑紀念。 近年紀念碑附近咖啡館林立，又各家的賞景視角及餐點各有特色，尤其夜間欣賞山城時，浪漫的氣氛，籠罩著整個玉井區呢。

Before coming to Yujing on June 30, 2024, a friend mentioned #YuQingfang, leaving me completely bewildered. Today, I visited the Yujing Shallow Mountain Market, where a guide explained the history of the streetscapes and temples, the Siraya people's karma, and the great anti-Japanese martyr Yu Qingfang. I brought fried chicken to Hutou Mountain and sat comfortably near the monument, enjoying the scenery and reading the inscription recounting Yu Qingfang's rallying of the militia against the Japanese police in the battles on Hutou Mountain. A Hong Kong couple came over and were also studying the facts recorded on the inscription. I looked down the mountain, thinking about those days… Tang Dezhang (who attended Yujing Elementary School)'s father was also a Japanese policeman stationed in Yujing during that time, and a victim of the battle. Tang Dezhang escaped the battle under his mother's protection, so for me, the history here is truly filled with blood and tears. But later, Tang Dezhang, nearing forty, was sacrificed in the 228 Incident; there was no escaping it… BTW, Tang Dezhang is really handsome!

The renovations have been ongoing for a long time with no progress, which is a pity for this historic place. The view of Yujing and the mountain from the top is beautiful.
