In the heart of Shilin by the side street where the food hawkers are lies Cixian temple. It's a Buddhist temple. It's a good and quiet place to enter if you're tired of the noise and hustle, bustle of the night market.

It is a very good place to finish the exam, including various deities and a positive energy present, making it extremely auspicious. I love it very much and will love it forever.

Shilin Cixian Temple, located in the heart of the famous Shilin Night Market, is a hidden gem that offers a sense of peace amid the bustling crowds. During the three years I lived near the market, many local residents recommended that I visit this temple to pray for safety and good fortune. Intrigued by their advice, I decided to come here several times, and each visit deepened my appreciation for Taiwan’s rich folk beliefs. The temple itself is small compared to other famous shrines, but it carries a remarkable spiritual atmosphere. The incense, traditional architecture, and solemn altar create an ambiance of reverence that contrasts beautifully with the lively sounds of the night market outside. I found myself slowing down, breathing deeply, and letting go of daily stress whenever I stepped into this sacred space. It felt like a sanctuary where the modern and the traditional coexist in harmony. What impressed me most was not only the temple’s historical significance but also the way it remains an active part of the community. Locals often come here to pray before going about their evening shopping or dining, keeping alive a tradition that has lasted for generations. For me, visiting Shilin Cixian Temple was more than just exploring a cultural site; it was a personal journey that brought peace of mind and a deeper understanding of Taiwanese spiritual life ❤️❤️❤️

Shilin Cixian Temple is a historic Taoist temple located in the heart of Taipei's Shilin District, right next to the bustling Shilin Night Market. Originally built in 1796 and relocated to its current site in 1864, it is dedicated to Mazu, the sea goddess widely worshipped in Taiwan. The temple was reconstructed in 1927 and is now one of the city's most important centers of Mazu devotion. The temple features beautiful Fujian-style architecture, with intricate wooden carvings, vivid paintings, and detailed ceramic decorations. Interestingly, the left and right sides of the temple were built by two different artisan groups, giving each side a distinct artistic style. Open daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM
